Ministry of Home Affairs/ Naypyitaw / November 28, 2025

In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are administrative officials who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.

Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 27 November 2025 at 8:05 AM, the village administrator a resident of U Aung Ko Myint (41 years old) and Thal Kan Village in Mahlaing Township of Mandalay Region and U Thein Zaw (41 years old), a member of the Public Security and Counter-Terrorism Team, were at the house of U Thein Zaw, four so-called PDF terrorists arriving by two motorcycles opened fire on them, accusing them of being “decoys”. As a result, both men died on the spot, it is reported.

Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
