278 new cases of COVID-19 reported on 25 September, total figure rises to 621,402

MYANMAR’S COVID-19 positive cases rose to 621,402 after 278 new cases were reported on 25 September 2022 according to the Ministry of Health. Among these confirmed cases, 596,947 have been recovered from disease. Death toll still stands at 19,455 without more casualties.

COVID-19 vaccine is being injected to those of priority groups in regions and states for prevention and control of the disease. Up to 24-9-2022, a total of 30,540,359 people above 18 and a total of 6,599,861 people under 18 have been vaccinated.

Myanmar reported 138 COVID-19 deaths between 28-1-2022 and 19-9-2022. Of them, 97 deaths (70 per cent) had underlying chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, liver, kidney, lung and cancer.
