100-Household Elder Shot Dead by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Magway Township of Magway Region

    In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are administrative officials who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
    Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 2 July 2025 at 2:45 PM, a report stated that a man was shot dead near Nyaung Pin Gyi Village, Magway Township of Magway Region. When security personnel arrived at the scene for further investigation, they discovered the victim was identified as U Win Htway (55 years old), a 100-household elder and resident of Ngar Saung Village in Magway Region. The incident occurred while the victim was returning from Thit Yar Kaunt Village to his village along the Phoe Pauk Kan – Kan Na Sint – Ngar Saung Village Commutable road. When he reached an area near Nyaung Pin Gyi Village, three so-called PDF terrorists arriving by two motorcycles and opened fire on him. As a result, he died on the spot, it is reported.
    Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
