A Township Chairman of Union Solidarity and Development Party shot dead by a pro-terrorism armed group in Maukme Township, Southern Shan State.

In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views "anyone with differing views is an enemy" are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are administrative officials and innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.

Since they are committing such terrorist acts on 11 July 2025 at 9:00 AM, a report stated that U Sai Ngaung Sai Hein (55 years old), the Township Chairman of the Union Solidarity and Development Party and a resident of Zay Tan Ward in Maukme Township of Southern Shan State, was found dead with gunshot wounds inside his farm hut near Pon Law (Pone Laung) Village. When security personnel arrived at the scene for further investigation, they confirmed that U Sai Ngaung Sai Hein had died from gunshot injuries inside the hut. Around 8:00 AM, while he was working at the hut, a pro-terrorism armed group arrived and shot him. As a result, he died on the spot, it is reported.

Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
