In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 23 August 2025, at 9:20 PM, a report stated that a man with gunshot injuries was admitted to Myitkyina District Public Hospital in Kachin State. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victim was identified as Mg La Htoi (21 years old) a resident of Manhkring Ward in Myitkyina Township. The incident occurred when the victim was shot near the New Star galvanized plate factory in the ward by a KIA armed insurgent while on his way to the factory, resulting in his injuries, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
