In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “Spies, Informants or Decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 24 August 2025 at 3:25 PM, a report stated that Ma Soe Thiri Kyaw (19 years old) and Daw Kyu Kyu Win (45 years old), both residents of Chaung-U (North) Ward in Chaung-U Township of Sagaing Region, sustained gunshot wounds inflicted by a so-called PDF terrorist group. When security personnel arrived at the scene for further investigation, and the injured individuals were transported to Monywa District Public Hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile, the security personnel carried out a Counter-Terrorism operation and encountered three so-called PDF terrorists planting explosive devices near Chan Thar Gyi Monastery in the ward. Security personnel opened fire on the terrorists in an attempt to arrest them. As a result, two terrorists fled at the scene, while one was killed on the spot. An explosive device was also seized, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
