Terrorist groups have been engaging in battles, carrying out attacks using heavy weapons, drones to drop bombs and improvised explosive devices across towns and villages in various states and regions. Moreover, they are committing inhumane acts of terror and criminal activities including abducting and extorting money from local civilians, as well as killings.

Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 6 July 2025 at 8:00 PM, while U Aung Win Kyi (49 years old), a resident of Pyin Chaung Village in Myeik Township of Tanintharyi Region, was at his house, approximately 20 pro-terrorism KNU members arrived and abducted him. They took him to Tha Kan Ywar Haung Village. He was later released on 7 July at 12:30 PM, after being threatened and forced to pay an extortion fee related to his rubber plantation, it is reported.

Regarding the above incident, security personnel continue necessary operations in accordance with standard procedures to identify, apprehend and take action against the terrorists involved, it is reported.
