Terrorist groups have been carrying out attacks using heavy weapons, drones to drop bombs and improvised explosive devices targeting schools that contribute to the development of the education sector. Moreover, they are committing inhumane acts of terror and criminal activities, including killings and threats against teachers and students.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 28 June 2025 at 12:00 PM, approximately 30 armed members of the Asho Chin Defense Force (ACDF), affiliated with the so-called PDF terrorists, arrived at Si Thar Village in Ngape Township of Magway Region. They abducted U Aung Zaw Lin, headmaster of the Sub-Basic Education Secondary School in the village, along with six other villagers. The group took them to an area near a lake, approximately 150 meters west of the village and took their mobile phones. Furthermore, they issued a threat, stating: “Do not run the school. If you run the school, we will kill you”, before leaving for Kan Ni Village. On 30 June 2025 at 3:30 PM, the abducted individuals returned to their respective houses.
