Terrorist groups are retreating in disarray with heavy casualties, as they lack support from the local population, face relentless counter-terrorism operations by security forces and cannot withstand the ongoing military offensives. During their retreat, they have resorted to destructive acts, including burning and destroying local homes, roads, bridges, government buildings and historical landmarks, as well as laying mines and setting off explosions.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 24 August 2025 at 9:15 AM, the TNLA terrorist group used bombs to destroy the famous Goteik Viaduct in northern Shan State. The viaduct is 2,260 feet long and 125 years old. It connects the towns of Naungcho and Kyaukme. A 60-foot part of the bridge between pier P-16 and abutment AB-2 on the Kyaukme side was destroyed, it is reported.
As a result, the public strongly rejects and condemns the destruction of the terrorist grap to the country’s iconic and historical sites, which are not military targets, by blowing off with explosives. Security personnel are intensifying and continuing their efforts to ensure regional stability and security, it is reported.
