In regions and states, insurgent groups supporting terrorism and so-called PDF terrorist groups have been carrying out terrorist acts by detonating roads and bridges, as well as dropping bombs and firing heavy arms on the non-military targets, such as Ward and Villages where innocent civilians reside.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 7 June at 12:05 PM, an insurgent group (total number – under scrutiny) recklessly dropped two bombs using a drone on the Damaryone Yeikthar monastery located beside the Paenwekone-Kyaukgyi Road in Latpankone Village of Kayuktaga Township, Bago Region. The bombs landed and exploded on the roof of the refectory building and an area approximately 15 feet away from the Buddhist chapel within the monastery compound. As a result of the explosion, approximately 30 zinc roofs and ceilings of the refectory building were damaged, while the abbot U Wiziya, 35 years old, 15 years as a monk (Father) U Kyaw Tin, sustained injuries. The abbot was transported to the Paenwekone Circuit Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
Security personnel are investigating the incident to take punitive action against terrorists who recklessly dropped bombs using drones a monastery which is a religious building where a noble place of Buddhism, as soonest in accordance with the law and to maintain stability and peace in the region, it is reported.
