Although the Tatmadaw is steadfastly endeavouring to achieve perpetual peace by following the points of agreement prescribed in the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement-NCA, troops under KIA brigade (6) and other combined forces, with the intent to disrupt the State’s peace and stability, launched an attack on the Nam Kut military outpost taking local security measures located 10 miles southwest of Mong Ko town, Muse district, Shan state (north) on 19 October. The KIA members launched an attack on the camp from three locations by using a large number of forces.

Therefore, the Tatmadaw military columns had to launch counter-attacks using close air support and artillery fire support on six locations of the KIA Brigade (6). As a result, a sentry guard post of KIA was seized with some bodies of its members and the military columns continued taking security measures.

Moreover, KIA members based at Mite Sar Par, a vanguard location of KIA’s Laiza headquarters had launched attacks 81 times using a large number of forces on the Tatmadaw military outpost of Lal Long base situated near Nam San Yang Village of Winemaw town to control the Myitkyina-Bhamo Road since 8 July to 20 October 2023. Although the security force members at the outpost had resisted gallantly against the enemy’s attacks by using close air support and artillery fire support, they had to temporarily leave the base due to the increasing number of insurgents on 20 October and now preparing to recapture the outpost by combining with the military columns of reinforcement.
