Auspicious Ceremony Held to Offer Maravijaya Monastery in the Precinct of Maravijaya Buddha Park

A ceremony to offer Maravijaya Monastery in Maravijaya Buddha Park in Dekkhinathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, where Maravijaya Buddha Image is located, which would be the world’s tallest sitting marble Buddha Image, took place on 30 July.
The ceremony was graced by Venerable Sayadaws led by Patron of Mingala Zeyon Monastery, Pali University of Pyinmana, and members of Sangha who would reside in the Maravijaya Monastery. It was also attended by the leading donor Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and family, SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye and wife, union ministers and wives, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chair, Nay Pyi Taw Command Commander and officials.
First, Master of Ceremonies read out the paper on the entrustment of the monastery. Then, the leading donor SAC Chairman Prime Minister and wife and family presented the related documents of donating the monastery to the Sayadaw who would be the principal of the monastery. Later, the Prime Minister and attendees offered alms and day meals to the members of the Sangha led by Pali Sayadaw.
