BGF Units Taken by KNDF and KNPP Terrorist Armed Organizations in Pantain, Sukpaing Recaptured

As Taung Hla, Maetanwe, BP-14, Meisei and Nampaung outposts providing security for border areas and local residents in Kayah State came under massive attacks of KNDF and KNPP terrorist armed organizations from 13 to 19 June, fierce clashes with security forces broke out and communications with No. 1004 Border Guard Force unit in Pantain under the command of the Tatmadaw were cut off.
In the morning on 17 June, communication with a Tatmadaw officer who was performing duties at No. 1004 BGF was restored and according to his reports, it was learnt that some transformed members of No. 1004 BGF together with weapons and ammunition armed by the Tatmadaw has betrayed the State and the Tatmadaw by launching a rebellion and joined the KNPP and KNDF terrorist armed organizations. The Tatmadaw personnel who were serving in the BGF unit and their families were detained at different offices and buildings.
In the morning on 28 June, the Tatmadaw airborne units advanced towards No. 1004 BGF unit, employing commando tactics and taking air and artillery fire support. Therefore, the Tatmadaw personnel seized control of it; rescued detained Tatmadaw officer, the ranks and their families; and transported them to a safe haven by helicopters.
Similarly, communication with No. 1005 BGF in Sukpaing was also lost on 17 June. Although the Tatmadaw had planned to send airborne units to the BGF unit, it was impossible to do so due to bad weather. As a result, commando units advanced towards No. 1005 BGF unit phase by phase and recaptured it in the evening of 27 June. Since the Tatmadaw officers as well as other ranks, who were serving there, and their families have been missing when the Tatmadaw recaptured No. 1005 BGF unit, it has been conducting search and rescue operations to save them.
In recapturing Nos. 1004 and 1005 BGF units, clashes broke out between the Tatmadaw and the terrorist armed groups, 41 different types of weapons, 927 rounds, 28 different types of shell and other related materials were captured from them while some officers and other ranks suffered casualties.
The Tatmadaw is taking measures to recapture some outposts in Meisei area taken by KNDF and KNPP terrorist armed organization as early as possible, it is reported.
