Homemade mines, Arms and Related Materials Intended for using in Terrorist Attacks were seized in Pakokku and Thabeikkyin Townships

Seizures of six homemade mines and related items in Pakokku Township.


      To prevent terrorist attacks in various regions and states, ensure stability and peace in the region, enforce the rule of law, and ensure that people can live safely and peacefully, security forces are carrying out necessary security measures around the clock.

     On 19 May at 1020 AM, while security personnel were carrying out a mine clearance operation at the airfield located south of Pantaichoun Village in Pakokku Township, Magway Region, they found and seized six homemade mines, a battery commonly used for electric shocks, a circuit and an approximately 300 feet of wire rope, which were planted by a so-called PDF terrorist group at the left side of the airfield’s Road, it is reported.

      Similarly, at 0530 PM, according to the report that so-called PDF terrorists were planting homemade mine for a planned terrorist bombing on the Mandalay-Myitkyina Road located northeast of Innnet Village in Thabeikkyin Township, Mandalay Region, security personnel went to the scene and conducted an inspection. When security personnel arrived at the scene, approximately five so-called PDF terrorists attacked with homemade guns. The security personnel responded to them, causing the terrorists to retreat and flee. In the incident, two terrorists died, and a homemade gun, two homemade mines, a coil of small nylon rope and three motorcycle battery pots were found and seized near the scene, it is reported. 

      It has been reported that security personnel systematically seized and cleared homemade guns and related materials found in the above cases, and are now taking necessary measures to restore community peace and stability in the area in accordance with laws.
