In Certain Townships, Innocent Civilians Killed and Injured in Heavy Weapon Attacks by So-Called PDF Terrorists

    Terrorists are ruthlessly carrying out abductions, killings and armed attacks, using both heavy and small weapons, improvised rocket attacks on wards and villages, as well as conducting drone strikes, all with the intent to harm civilians and instill fear among the public.

    Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 1 June 2026 at 9:05 AM, so-called PDF terrorists fired heavy weapons into Ga Nge Ward in Launglone Township of Tanintharyi Region. A 40 mm bomb exploded within the ward. As a result, U Zaw Lat (45 years old), a resident of the ward, sustained shrapnel injuries and was transported to Dawei Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.

    Similarly, at 3:45 PM, on the same day, so-called PDF terrorists fired heavy weapons into Thin Gyun Village in Thayetchaung Township. The shells exploded within the village. As a result, Daw Shwe Ngar (65 years old), U Ni Tun (60 years old) and his wife, Daw Mu (65 years old), all residents of the village, died on the spot, it is reported.

    According to the above mentioned cases, local residents are condemning and protesting against the indiscriminate firing of heavy weapons, small arms, improvised rockets and drone attacks by dropping bombs on wards and villages. In response, security personnel, in collaboration with local residents, are intensifying security measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the incidents, it is reported.
