Innocent Civilian Injured in Heavy Weapon Attack by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Nyaung-U Township of Mandalay Region

     Terrorists are ruthlessly carrying out abductions, killing and armed attacks, using both heavy and small weapons, improvised rocket attacks on wards and villages, as well as conducting drone strikes, all with the intent to harm civilians and instill fear among the public.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 2 May 2026 at 3:30 PM, a report stated that a woman with shrapnel injuries was admitted to Mandalay Public Hospital in Chanayetharzan Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital to conduct further investigation, the victim was identified as Daw Nwe Nwe Tun (35 years old), a resident of Khya-O Kyun Village in Nyaung-U Township. According to the investigation, on 30 April 2026 at 10:30 AM, while the victim was at a hut near her groundnut plantation field, a heavy weapon shell fired by so-called PDF terrorists exploded nearby, it is reported.

     According to the above-mentioned case, local residents are condemning and protesting against the indiscriminate firing of heavy weapons, small arms, improvised rockets and drone attacks by dropping bombs on wards and villages. In response, security personnel, in collaboration with local residents, are intensifying security measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the incident, it is reported.
