Terrorists committing terrorist activities have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets and dropping bombs using drones into the public towns wards and villages.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 19 December 2024 at 10:50 AM, a report stated that a monk and a woman with shrapnel injuries had been admitted to Mandalay Public Hospital in Chanayetharzan Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims were a monk named Vun Nita (47 years old) with 25 years in monkhood and Ma Thal Su Mon (23 years old). The incident occurred earlier that day at 8:40 AM, when a so-called PDF terrorist group fired heavy weapons into Mya Kan Thar Village in Patheingyi Township. One of the heavy weapon shells exploded within the compound of the Mya Yadana Mhan Aung Monastery in the village. At the time of the explosion, the victims were present at the monastery and sustained shrapnel injuries as a result, it is reported.
Due to the heinous acts of armed terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent civilians are injured. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
