Innocent Civilians Injured in Improvised Explosive Device Explosions Planted by Terrorists in Madaya and Lashio Townships

     In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 3 February 2026 at 7:30 AM, a report stated that explosion occurred in No. 5 Ward in Madaya Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was founded that Mg Chit Hein (15 years old), together with Mg Thant Zin Aung (14 years old) and Daw Yi Win (35 years old), all residents of the ward, were packaging discarded old items at their house for sale. These items had been collected on 2 February. During this process, an unexploded bomb, which they had mistaken for scrap metal, exploded. As a result of the blast, all three sustained shrapnel injuries and were transported to Madaya Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.

     Similarly, at 3:20 PM, on the same day, a report stated that two men and two women with shrapnel injuries were admitted to Madaya Township Public Hospital. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victims were identified as U Aung Win Myint (48 years old), Ko Bo Kate (26 years old), Ma Nge Lay (26 years old) and Ma Saung Hnin Khine (16 years old), all residents of No. 5 Ward in Madaya Township. According to the investigation, at 12:30 PM, while they were packaging discarded old items at their house for sale, an improvised explosive device (IED) mixed in with those items exploded, resulting in their injuries, it is reported.

     Similarly, at 3:30 PM, on the same day, a report stated that a man with shrapnel injuries was admitted to Madaya Township Public Hospital. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victim was identified as U Aung Thein Oo (51 years old), a resident of Wun Su Village in Madaya Township. According to the investigation, at 2:00 PM, while the victim was cleaning in his yard, his hoe stuck an improvised explosive device planted by a so-called PDF terrorist group, causing it to explode and resulting in his injuries, it is reported.

     Similarly, at 5:10 PM, on the same day, a report stated that an explosion occurred in Lashio Gyi Ward, Lashio Township of Shan State. When security personnel arrived at the scene for further investigation, it was found that U Khite Myin (45 years old), a resident of the ward, stepped on a landmine planted by MNDAA terrorist group while he was cutting bamboo in a forest near the ward, causing it to explode. As a result, U Khite Myin sustained shrapnel injuries and was transported to Lashio District Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.

     It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incidents to take effective action in accordance with the law.
