Acting on the exact information about place and time provided by local people who are against terrorism, the Tatmadaw launched a limited airstrike against PDF terrorists as they planned to hold an opening ceremony of their terrorist HQ, the NUG office, near Pazigyi Village, Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region, on 11 Arpril. A comprehensive news about the incident already appeared in State-run dailies and TV channels in both Myanmar and English on 13 April.

From 23 March to 8 April, the Tatmadaw launched operations against KIA battalion-12 and PDF terrorists around Mang Wein, Sitha, Mankha, Simulay, Simugyi, Tongauk, Ywathitgon and Namlan villages where they are trying to set up the eastern command of NUG terrorist group on the eastern bank of Ayeyawady River. During the operation, the Tatmadaw seized terrorists’ dead bodies, arms and ammunition. The Tatmadaw also found that terrorists had built bunkers and firing holes and laid lamdmines at monasteries, schools, rural dispensaries and houses in the villages.

Since locals provide information about the arrival of KIA and PDF terrorists in Pazigyi Village and the surrounding villages for further acts of violence, the Tatmadaw carried out security duties and fought the terrorists on 20 April. In the incidents, the terrorists fled in disorder to the northern part.

When security forces conducted a throughout check on the area, they seized four dead bodies of terrorists, two magazines, fove 40 mm shells, sandbag covered bunkers, trenches and firing holes near the fence of the monstery, seven motorcycles, tents, 10 rounds of 12 bolt action guns, one mine detector, three large batteries, guerrilla uniforms and other related materials the

wall of the monastery.

Likewise, acting on locals’ tip-off about the arrival of PDF terrorists around Magyikan Village of Myaing Township, Magway Region, security forces crushed them on 18 and 19 April and some officers and other ranks got injured. However, security forces seized 10 magazines of M-22 rifles, 18 China-made grenades, four bomb shells, 30 rounds of 12 bolt action guns, 600 rounds of 5.56 mm, 100 rounds of 7.62 mm, 50 rounds of rifles, four vehicles, 20 motorcycles in different types, guerrilla unoforms and related mateirals in the rural dispensary. They also seized eight electrically initiated rocket launchers, 46 improvised mines, four packs of gunpowder (eight visses in one pack), two laptop computers and other ralted mateirals in the houses of the village.

Local residents’ tip-offs matched the gound situation that was recorded by security forces. As the facts of locals’’ information, it was found out that terrorist groups actually built bunkers and firing holes in the areas of monasteries, schools, rural dispensaries in the vilages and and laid landmines as obstacles around the villages. In their moves, those terrorists took innocent villagers along with them and use them as human shields in the fighting. If those hostage villagers are dead, they discredit the Tatmadaw through media propaganda.

On 20 April, terrorists under the disguise of Buddhist monks from a vehicle attacked security forces with small arms at the village administrator's office in Myakantha Village of Patheingyi Township, leaving some security forces injured. The terrorists’ attack, in the disguise of monks wearing robes which are sacred to, on security personnel saddened the entire populace and tarnished the country’s image in international arena. Turning a blind eye to perpetual peace aspired by the people and the Tatmadaw, PDF under the support of armed self-seeker insurgents, attacked security forces and coercing local people in far away places and built sandbag bunkers, firing holes in monasteires, schools, dispensaries and

houses and laid mines around the villages. They committed acts of violence on pagodas, monasteries, monks and nuns. It is found that they were loathsome as they use holy robes in launching terrorist attacks. Such acts of using use public places and non-military areas and people as human shields commit a war crime. Hence, people inform the security forces about the information of terrorists depending on the situations.

Security forces are launching limited operations, under limited strength in line with the law in crushing lawless terrorist groups that are intimidating and killing the people, to protect people’s lives and property. Moreover, security forces, joining hands with people, are serving duties, under the Rules of Engagement-ROE and international humanitarian law which is to follow in armed conflicts, to safeguard people’s lives and property, it is reported.
