Public notice on overseas employment training courses and OWIC applications

- THE Department of Labour reviews and permits the proposals to join the oversea employment training courses and apply for OWIC by the skilled workers who will work abroad on their own plans, labourers on leave, those who work with permanent residence permit within two or three days during office hours under the procedures. It also announces the lists of those who are allowed to join the course and make OWIC on the Safe Migration Telegram Channel.

- In applying for overseas employment training courses and OWIC, the department has learnt that brokers/licenced oversea employment agencies advertise their services on Facebook and OWIC-related Facebook groups at large amounts of service charges. Some workers also completely hand over the applications of training courses and OWIC to the brokers/ licenced oversea employment agencies.

- It also found that the brokers/ licenced oversea employment agencies submit fraudulent work permits, visas, immigration seals, leave approval letters, certificates of overseas employment training, graduate certificate or certificate of proficiency in the handwriting of one person.

- If the brokers/ licenced oversea employment agencies are found submitting fake documents, action will be taken against the workers who engage with brokers and or licenced overseas employment agencies in addition to the brokers and agencies.

- The Department of Labour reviews and grants the training and OWIC as quickly as possible within two or three days in office days and it demands just the documents from the workers that they can easily get, so it is announced that the workers should not take the services of brokers/agencies at high service charges and should apply for in person.
