VICE-CHAIRMAN of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, wife Daw Than Than Nwe and senior military officers inspected the military hospital in Fort Bahtoo City in Shan State (South) yesterday.

The commandant of the hospital reported to the Vice-Senior General on medical treatment and four-point military buildings. The Vice-Senior General attended to the needs after asking for further information.

The Vice-Senior General comforted the patient military personnel, families and local people and presented foodstuffs.

They inspected the dental room, ultrasound room, medical wards, kitchen and ration store of the hospital.

Daw Than Than Nwe, the wife of the Vice-Senior General, comforted the patients at the maternity and child ward and presented aid to them.

The Vice-Senior General and his wife donated cash awards for health staff from the hospital and cash donations for the hospital to the commandant.

At the integrated farming agriculture and livestock farm of the Defence Services (Army) Officers Training School (Bahtoo), the Vice-Senior General inspected the raising of layers and broilers, breeding of DYL pigs and dairy cows, and cultivation of seasonal crops.

At the integrated farm (Bahtoosan), the commandant of the Defence Services (Army) Combat Forces School (Bahtoo) reported on the reclamation of new farmlands with the assistance of the Department of Irrigation and Water Utilization Management to the Vice-Senior General. The Vice-Senior General viewed the cultivation of potato and soya bean plantations.

Bahtoosan Dam is under construction. Upon completion, it will irrigate the agriculture and livestock tasks of the military station and more than 200 acres of farmlands of local people in Zale and Lwesen villages throughout the year. It will prevent silting at the Bahtoosan spring and the creek.

The Vice-Senior General also inspected the renovation of Peinchaung Dam and coordinated necessary measures. Upon completion of the renovation, the dam can irrigate more than 50 acres of farmlands and contributes to the cultivation of seasonal crops.
