Security Force Arrests Members of Terrorist Group called Twante Urban Guerrilla, along with Arms/Ammo and Goldwares, within 5 Hours after the Robbery of ‘Myat Maung’ Jewellery Shop

On 18 June 2023, a robbery case took place at the ‘Myat Maung’ jewelry shop situated on May Darwi Road, ward (I), North Oakkalapa Township. In the incident, three male terrorists (under investigation) robbed the shop by holding two staff at gunpoint, and took varieties of goldware (worth 1,660 million kyats).

Thanks to the reports of the witnesses who oppose acts of violence and love justice and ground investigation, security personnel arrested the perpetrator Ko Ko Aung and Pa Pa Hlaing who live together with him without getting married at the Academy hotel on Shwe Gone Daing road, western ward of Nga Htat Gyi Buddha Image, Bahan Township on 18 June.

According to the arrested robber Ko Ko Aung;

· Security personnel arrested Kaung Htet San (aka) Ta Yoke Gyi, Kyaw Zin Latt, Kaung Myat (aka) Blank, Phyo Ko Ko and Kyaw Zin Wai, who were involved in robbery case, along with two M4A1 rifles, two Sig Sauer pistols, eight magazines, two Type 91 hand-grenades, 340 bullet rounds of 5.56 mm and 210 rounds of 9MM luger pistol as well as robbed goldwares at Waibargi ward in North Oakkalapa Township.

· Similarly, security force members arrested other robbery-related perpetrators Saw Joseph (aka) Cho Toe and Tun Tun Naing, along with one M16 rifle, at Kywel Lan village in Maubin Township.

Within 5 hours after the jewelry shop robbery, eight males and one female were arrested along with two M4A1 rifles, one M16 rifle, two Sig Sauer pistols, eight magazines, two Type 91 hand-grenades, 340 bullet rounds of 5.56 mm and 210 rounds of 9MM luger pistol as well as robbed goldwares, thanks to the participation of conscientious civilians who oppose acts of violence and an intensified check and search made by security personnel day and night for the perpetrators.

According to the additional arrested perpetrators under interrogation;

· The perpetrators Phyo Ko Ko, Ko Ko Aung, Kaung Myat, Kyaw Zin Wai and Kaung Htet San attended terrorist explosive trainings. The perpetrators (still at large) San Shay (aka) Ko Htet and Chan Myae Aung led to form a terrorist group called Twante Urban Guerrilla which comprises 25 members including Ko Ko Aung, Phyo Ko Ko, Kaung Myat, Kyaw Zin Wai and Kyaw Zin Latt and Kaung Htet San in order to carry out acts of violence in Yangon region and kill innocent civilians.

· Thanks to the help of the perpetrator San Shay (aka) Ko Htet (still at large), Phyo Ko Ko met Chan Myae (still at large) near Nyaung Dagar village in Twante Township and brought two M4A1 rifles, one M16 rifle, two Sig Sauer pistols, eight magazines, two hand-grenades, 340 rounds of 5.56mm, 300 rounds of 9MM Luger pistol with him for two times to do acts of violence and robberies in Twante Township and Yangon region.

Under the instructions of the perpetrators (still at large) San Shay (aka) Ko Htet and Chan Myae, who are the leaders of the terrorist group called Twante Urban Guerrilla, the terrorist members committed motiveless killings of people for 10 times and robberies for three times in Twante Township and Yangon Region as follows;

· On 3 March 2022, Phyo Ko Ko with a pistol gunned down U Kyaw Lwin Oo, the village administrator of Ta Loat Htaw Out Gyin village in Twante Township, and his wife, accusing them of ‘traitor/Dalan’.  Ko Ko Aung helped him, doing as a watch.

Kaung Myat served as a watch for both killings.

· On 1 August, Phyo Ko Ko fired a pistol at U Thein Win, a ward administrator of Bi Kho village in Twante Township, accusing him of ‘traitor/Dalan’. Ko Ko Aung and Kaung Myat did as a watch.

· On 22 August, Phyo Ko Ko, Kaung Myat and Ko Ko Aung killed six people including U Khin Nyunt, a village administrator

of Zee Phyu Gon at Mya Kan Thar village junction by using pistols, accusing him of ‘traitor/Dalan’. Kyaw Zin Wai, Kyaw Zin Latt and Kaung Htet San did as the watches for the killings.

· On 8 October, Phyo Ko Ko and Kaung Myat with pistols slew two innocent civilians of U Tun Tun and his wife who live in Mae Pyay village of Twante Township by using pistols, accusing them of ‘traitor/Dalan’. Ko Ko Aung did as a watch.

· On 5 November, Phyo Ko Ko, Ko Ko Aung and Kaung Myat killed five innocent civilians including U Thein Zaw at Than Ban Seik village in Twante Township, accusing them of ‘traitor/Dalan’. Kyaw Zin Wai, Kyaw Zin Latt and Kaung Htet San did as the watches.

· On 6 November, Phyo Ko Ko and Ko Ko Aung shot the pistol at innocent civilians U Toe Min Htike and his wife to the death at LarKa Pone village in Twante Township, accusing them of ‘traitor/Dalan’. Kaung Myat did as a watch.

· On 7 February 2023, Phyo Ko Ko, Ko Ko Aung and Kaung Myat robbed an unarmed civilian Ma San Pa Pa Aung who lives in Kapin Gyi village in Twante Township and killed her.  Kyaw Zin Wai, Kyaw Zin Latt and Kaung Htet San did as the watches.

· On 4 March, Phyo Ko Ko, Ko Ko Aung and Kaung Myat shot a pistol at an administrator of Pauk Gon village U Soe Lwin and a 100-household leader U Than Lwin to the death. Kaung Htet San did as a watch.

· On 10 April, Phyo Ko Ko, Ko Ko Aung and Kaung Myat robbed an unarmed civilian U Tun Tun Oo who lives in Mae Pyay village in Twante Township and killed her.  Kyaw Zin Wai, Kyaw Zin Latt and Kaung Htet San did as the watches.

· On 18 June, Phyo Ko Ko, Ko Ko Aung and Kaung Myat robbed the ‘Myat Maung’ jewelry shop in North Oakkalapa

Township at gunpoint. Kaung Htet San, Kyaw Zin Latt and Kyaw Zin Wai did as the watches.

Harsh legal action will be taken under the law against the arrested perpetrators. It is announced that the entire populace is requested to combat terrorists in a collaborative manner and participate in restoring community peace and tranquility as quick as possible in villages and towns.
