Security Force Managed to Identify and Arrest Perpetrators who Robbed ‘Kyal Zin Lin’ Jewellery Shop within Four Hours

Around 10:30 am on 13 May, there occurred a robbery case in ‘Kyal Zin Lin’ jewellery located on Ayarwun street, No. (9) ward of Tharkayta township of Yangon region. Four suspects arriving with a white-coloured Toyota Probox car robbed the shop by holding three sale girls at gun point and took 30 lots of goldwares worth K400 million and CCTV control box as well.

According to the information tip-offed by locals who are against robberies and similar crimes, it was found out that the suspects of the robbery case were hiding in Painnaegon ward of Insein township. When security personnel searched the said area, eight perpetrators of the robbery case including the leader Soe Than Oo (aka) Zaw Gyi together with one Glock pistol, one Sig Sauer pistol, 121 rounds of assorted bullets, three grenades, two grenades with detonation cords. Moreover, 30 sets of goldwares worth K400 million and K3 million in cash were seized within four hours after the robbery.

According to the confessions of the arrested perpetrators, it is found out as follows –

· Offender Hein Min Htet (aka) Lin Nwe (still at large) organized a terrorist group so-called Anti-Dictatorship Revolution People’s Army – DRPA comprising 14 members in first week of October 2021 as per the instruction of absconder Yi Mon, a member of NUG with the ill intentions of killing innocent civilians after accusing them of ‘spy/dalan’; forcibly taking money from rich people by using the threat of weapon; and committing robberies.

· In the second week of December 2021, absconder Yi Mon (NUG) sent one Glock pistol, one Sig Sauer pistol, 100 rounds of bullets and four grenades to offender Hein Min Htet (aka) Lin Nwe (still at large) to carry out acts of terrorism in Yangon city.

According to the confessions of the arrested perpetrators, the DRPA terrorist group had committed one case of murder, one case of bombing, and three cases of robbery as follows –

The terrorist group killed an innocent civilian called ‘Pho Khwar’ in Hlegu 

· township in the fourth week of January 2022.

· The group exploded IED at the ward administer office in Aungmingalar ward of Hlegu township in the second week of January 2022.

· The group also robbed of K10 million from a businessman running “La Thar Yar” real estate in Kyaukkadin village, Hlegu township on 10 March 2023.

· On 3 April 2023, they also robbed ‘Kaung Lay’ mobile phone shop in Kyauktada township at gun point and forcibly took K5 million and 10 phone handsets.

· On 13 May, they went to Kyal Zin Lin jewellery shop and robbed the shop by holding three sale girls at gun point and took 30 lots of goldwares worth K400 million and CCTV control box as well.

It is reported that the arrested perpetrators will be taken harsh actions in accordance with laws.
