So-Called PDF Terrorists Attacks Kyun Chaung Natural Gas Power Plant, Damaging Two Transformers and Causing Power Outage in Pakokku Township of Magway Region

   Armed terrorists are carrying out acts of sabotage, including planting explosives to destroy power stations and electricity pylons, as well as launching attack with heavy and small arms in towns and villages across regions and states, with the intention of causing power outages.

   Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 5 February 2026, at 7:30 AM, so-called PDF terrorists attacked the Kyun Chaung Natural Gas Power Plant in Pakokku Township of Magway Region, using small arms. As a result of the attack, two 132/66/11 KV (13.33 MVA) single-phase transformers (Y Phase and B Phase) at the natural gas power plant were stuck by small-arms fire, causing oil leaks and a power line outage. Consequently, electricity supply through the 11 KV line to Myit Chay Town and nearby villages has been disrupted, and efforts are underway to restore power transmission, it is reported.

   It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.
