Two Innocent Civilians Injured in Heavy Weapon Attack by KIA Insurgents and So-Called PDF Terrorists in Hpakant Township of Kachin State

     Terrorists are ruthlessly carrying out abductions, killings and armed attacks, using both heavy and small weapons, improvised rocket attacks on wards and villages, as well as conducting drone strikes, all with the intent to harm civilians and instill fear among the public.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 7 February 2026 at  10:20 AM, a heavy weapon shell fired by a combined group of KIA insurgents and so-called PDF terrorists exploded in Myoma Ward of Hpakant Township, Kachin State. As a result, U Thurein (57 years old) and Daw Thida (50 years old), both residents of the ward, sustained shrapnel injuries and were transported to Hpakant Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.

     According to the above-mentioned case, local residents are condemning and protesting against the indiscriminate firing of heavy weapons, small arms, improvised rockets and drone attacks by dropping bombs on wards and villages. In response, security personnel, in collaboration with local residents, are intensifying security measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the incident, it is reported.
