On 20 March, a vehicle with local passengers from Kyaukgyi Town encountered an explosion after it ran over the improvised anti-vehicle mine, laid by KNLA members who support terrorism, at the bypass of Nyaung Gon bridge on Natthangwin-Kyaukgyi road in Kyaukgyi Town of Bago Region. During the mine blast, two male civilians and one female were killed on the spot, and another male passenger and another female got seriously injured with shrapnel wounds.

Terrorist groups are terrorizing unarmed people, making abduction and killing non-combatants of unarmed civilians. Additionally, they wilfully attacked and shot at civilian vehicles by using landmines and firearms, claiming people’s lives.

Security personnel are taking necessary security measures around the scene and have transported mine victims to the public hospitals in Kyaukgyi Town for receiving medical treatment.
