Union Chief Justice Htun Htun Oo attended “the 10th All-Russia Congress of Judges” held in Moscow, Russia

Myanmar delegation led by the Union Chief Justice U Htun Htun Oo attended “the 10^th All-Russia Congress of Judges by the invitation of H.E. Mr. Vyacheslav Lebedev, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Russia Federation and H.E. Mr. Victor Momotov, President of the Council of Judges of the Russian Federation, which was held from 29 November to 1 December in Moscow, Russian Federation.

Union Chief Justice attended the Congress together with Chief Justices, Presidents, Justices and Secretary General of the Committee from the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Cuba, the Republic of India, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the republic of Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Eurasian Economic Union, the Republic of Abkhazia.

During the Congress, the affairs including an assessment of the current state of the Russia’s court system, determination on its development prospects and formulation of the proposals of the judiciary regarding the further improvement of the justice in Russia were performed.  The Supreme Court of the Union of Myanmar and the Supreme Court of the Russia Federation exchanged relevant experience and opinion on judicial and legal matters.

The 10^th All-Russia Congress of Judges was attended by the Myanmar Delegation, led by the Union Chief Justice together with H.E. U Lwin Oo, the Myanmar Ambassador to the Russia Federation. The President of the Russia Federation, H.E. Mr. Vladimir Putin also made his solemn address at the Congress. During the visit, Union Chief Justice discussed properly with H.E. Mr. Victor Momotov, President of the Council of Judges of the Russian Federation.
