Union Information Minister provides K1 million financial assistance to lifetime literary award winner Maung Paw Tu

UNION Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn provided K1 million in financial assistance to unhealthy lifetime literary award winner Maung Paw Tun.
U Kyauk Taung, friend of Sayagyi Maung Paw Tun, posted about the health condition of Sayagyi on his Facebook on 15 July.
He wrote that Sayagyi is suffering from cancer, it costs over K1 million for treatment, all his savings are running out, contacted MoI Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn for knowing about his helpfulness, the wish of Sayagyi to take medical treatment to insert stents into necessary parts of colon at the military hospital, health condition of Sayagyi and taking K1 million donation of Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn.

He translated novels and articles for magazines and journals. He worked as the consultant editor, editor-in-chief and consultant editor for “Saroaklawka” publication, “Pan” magazine, “Cherry” magazine and the economic magazine.
He translated about 50 novels, including “Revolution on the Nile” and “Sukarno”, My Husband and My Lover.
He was presented the Literary Award for Lifetime Achievements together with other doyen literati Ko Lay-Inwa Gonyi (U Ko Lay) and Mya Zin (U Win Pe) by the government in 2014.
