Union Minister General Mya Tun Oo and Party Inspect Rehabilitation Activities in MOCHA Strom-hit Ponnagyun, Maungdaw, Buthidaung, Sittwe, Myebon and Pauktaw Townships

State Administration Council Member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Defence General Mya Tun Oo, who accompanied SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on his Rakhine trip, and party inspected rehabilitation tasks on 10 and 11 July in Ponnagyun, Maungdaw, Buthidaung, Sittwe, Myebon and Pauktaw townships.

Union Minister General Mya Tun Oo and party took the following measures;

· First, they inspected the repairs of the Mocha-hit U Riz Mingala suspension bridge in Ponnagyun Township.

· They met township-level officials in Maungdaw, Ponnagyun, Myebon and Pauktaw Township and presented water- purifiers and foodstuff including rice and cooking oil. They held talks about completed tasks in education, health and agriculture and livestock sectors affected by cyclonic storm MOCHA as well as future work plans to be proceeded.

· Then, they proceeded to Myoma police station in Ponnagyun, No (5) Border Guard Police Branch in Maungtaw, No (3) Border Guard Police Branch in Buthidaung, No (12) Border Guard Police Branch and No (36) Border Guard Police Branch in Sittwe; met police force members and their families there and provided foodstuffs as well as cash assistance to them.

· Next, they inspected the District Police Station and the treasury of the Myanma Economic Bank in Maungtaw Township.

· They inspected the completion of reconstruction works for Sittwe airport and family housings affected by the storm MOCHA.

· They viewed round the compound of telecommunication station to inspect the reconstruction work of telecommunication cables, office buildings and family housings. They also inspected temporary telecommunication tower built and new construction of tower.

Together with the Union Minister General Mya Tun Oo, Union Minister for Union Government Office Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung, Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant, the deputy minister for Transport and Communications and senior military officers accompanied on the inspection tour, and they met the requirement in relevant sectors, it is reported.
