Vice-Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win Attends Ceremonies to Open Maha Thingyan Pavilions (Water-Splashing Pavilions) in Nay Pyi Taw Council Territory

The opening ceremonies of Nay Pyi Taw Mayor’s Maha Thingyan Pavilion, Nay Pyi Taw Walking Thingyan, and Maha Thingyan Pavilion of the families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) of the 1384 ME Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan Festival were held in Nay Pyi Taw Council Territory on 23 April, respectively. On behalf of the Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Vice-Senior General Soe Win attended the events and opened the ceremonies, and participated in the events joyfully.

Also present at the ceremonies were the wife of the SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Daw Than Than Nwe, council members and their wives, union level officials and their wives, union ministers and their wives, senior military officers and their wives, famous artistes and vocalists and people who love the Thingyan festival.

First, the SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and party formally cut the ribbon to open the Nay Pyi Taw Mayor’s Maha Thingyan Pavilion. They then sprinkled cool water with the sprigs of thabyay on the choral (Yein) dance troupes, artistes and vocalists who peformed dances and songs, and presented cash rewards to them.

After that, the SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and party cut the ceremonial ribbon to open the archway of the Nay Pyi Taw Walking Thingyan. The SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister and wife, and officials and their wives sprayed Atar water by using sprigs of thabyay (Eugenia) on the choral (Yein) dance troupes and artistes.

The SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister and party viewed round the water-splashing in Thanaka Thingyan Zone, the water-throwing of ethnic people in Ethnic Thingyan Zone, the performances of artistes and choral (Yein) dance troupes at the entertainment pavilion, the preparations for holding colourful Thingyan in the youth and children zone, the illustrations of decorated floats representing Thingyan celebrations of four eras, and the game shows for youth. They then enjoyed the Atar Thingyan Festival together with staff and their family members, and people.

In the evening of the same day, the SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and party officially cut the ribbon to open the Maha Thingyan Pavilion of the families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air), and sprayed Atar water with the sprigs of thabyay (Eugenia) on the choral (Yein) dance troupes and participants. Likewise, the senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) cut the ribbon to open the Sein Pan Pavilion and Magyiyeik Pavilion in the compound of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), and Thingyan Pavilion of Nay Pyi Taw Command respectively, and participated in the events joyfully, it is reported.
