Work Coordination Meeting 2/2022 of the Union Auditor General and Directors from Region and State Audit Offices held

The Work Coordination Meeting 2/2022 of the Union Auditor General and Directors from Region and State Audit Offices and the Pre-Meeting of the first quarter of the 2022-2023 fiscal year regarding Real-Time Audit were held at 9:00 AM on 10 June at the Assembly Hall of the Office of the Auditor General of the Union, Nay Pyi Taw, via a videoconference system.

At the meeting, Prof. Dr Kan Zaw, the Union Auditor General, delivered an opening address, saying that this meeting is being held for the effective and successful implementation of real-time audits because the Office of the Auditor-General of the Union will start real-time audits in the 2022–2023 fiscal year in addition to regular audits; as the state investment projects implemented with public funds are for the public, therefore, the real-time audit will be conducted for concurrent control over the projects, whether they are effectively and efficiently implemented within the specified period, to be able to obtain the benefits of these projects for the public.

Therefore, he emphasized that the directors from the Region and State Audit Offices should try to learn the Real-Time Audit systematically and conduct their work with effort.

Then, the Directors from the Region and State Auditor General’s Offices presented and discussed the accomplishment of audit works, the remaining works and the activities for Real-Time Audit.

The Director-General of the Audit Department gave a wide-ranging discussion on the real-time audit process.

After that, the Permanent Secretary explained the raised questions from the directors of the Region and the State Auditor General's Offices.

Then, the Union Auditor General coordinated the necessary matters and delivered the closing address.

The meeting was attended by the Permanent Secretary, Director General (Audit Department), Deputy Permanent Secretary, Deputy Directors-General, Directors, and Deputy-Directors of the Office of the Auditor General of the Union at the Assembly Hall and by the directors from the Region and State Auditor General's Offices virtually.
