The Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing sent message to mark World Teachers’ Day that falls on 5th October 2023.

The excerpts from the message sent by the SAC Chairman Prime Minister are as follows:

· In Myanmar, the tradition of paying respects to teachers by appreciating their gratitude, has been ingrained for eons and is still true the same up to now.

· Only when teachers are actually able to instill wisdom and knowledge in their pupils, will be they able to overcome problems and challenges and win victories in their lives.

· Only when there are good teachers, will youths who have to shoulder their duties of the future of the country be educated with high morality and can they serve the interests of the State and its nationals, beautifying the State and uplifting prestige.

· Depending on the quality of the country’s human resources rather than the size of a country, big or small, the country with a high level of education is more developed.

· In order to establish a peaceful society, it need for a growing number of future generations of well-versed youths.

· The country requires many well-rounded teachers to produce educated youths with obedience to discipline and morale in accord with the saying: “School is the birthplace of national moral standards”.

Therefore, in accordance with the 2023 World Teachers’ Day theme, “The teachers we need for the education we want: The global imperative to reverse the teacher shortage”, we need to work together to have the teachers needed for our educational goals.
