Innocent Civilian Injured in Heavy Weapon Attack by Pro-Terrorism Armed Insurgent Group in Pekon Township of Southern Shan State

    Terrorists are ruthlessly carrying out abductions, killings and armed attacks, using both heavy and small weapons, on wards and villages, as well as conducting drone strikes, all with the intent to harm civilians and spread fear. They are also indiscriminately planting landmines on public roads, targeting government offices with explosives and engaging in destructive acts without regard for reason or morality.
    Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 19 July 2025 at 10:30 AM, a report stated that a woman with shrapnel injuries was admitted to Sao San Tun Hospital in Taunggyi Township of Shan State. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victim was identified as Daw Hla Than (47 years old), a resident of Sin Phyu Village in Pekon Township. The incident had occurred on 18 July 2025 at 12:00 PM, when a heavy weapon shell, fired by pro-terrorism armed insurgent group, exploded at the victim’s house. As a result, the victim sustained shrapnel injuries, and the roof was damaged, it is reported.
    It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.
