In Certain Townships of Shan State and Mandalay Region, Two Innocent Civilians Injured in Improvised Explosive Device Explosions Planted by Terrorists

    In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.

    Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 20 April 2026 at 9:30 AM, a report stated that a woman with shrapnel injuries was admitted to Lashio District Public Hospital in Shan State. When security personnel arrived at the hospital to conduct further investigation, the victim was identified as Ma Aye Saw (19 years old), a resident of Hat Kar Village in Lashio Township. According to the investigation, on the same day at 8:00 AM, while the victim was working in a yard about one mile north of the village, her hoe struck an improvised explosive device planted by MNDAA terrorist group, causing it to explode, and resulting in her injuries, it is reported. 

    Similarly, at 11:40 AM, a report stated that a man with shrapnel injuries was admitted to Madaya Township Public Hospital in Mandalay Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital to conduct further investigation, the victim was identified as U Aung Shine (31 years old), a resident of Lat Wal Gyi Village in Madaya Township. According to the investigation, on the same day at 10:45 AM, while the victim was on his way to an area about five furlongs east of the village, he stepped on an improvised explosive device planted by so-called PDF terrorists, resulting in his injuries, it is reported. 

    It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incidents to take effective action in accordance with the law.
