Innocent Civilian Injured in Heavy Weapon Attack by KNU and So-Called PDF Terrorists in Thandaunggyi Township of Kayin State

     Terrorists are ruthlessly carrying out abductions, killings and armed attacks, using both heavy and small weapons, improvised rocket attacks on wards and villages, as well as conducting drone strikes, all with the intent to harm civilians and instill fear among the public.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 16 March 2026 at 4:50 PM, a report stated that a woman with shrapnel injuries was admitted to the General Hospital (1,000-bedded) in Zabu Thiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victim was identified as Daw Khin Aye Lwin (42 years old), a resident of Za Lal (South) Village in Thandaunggyi Township of Kayin State. According to the investigation, on 14 March 2026 at 5:30 PM, the victim was returning home on foot from her plantation field. When she reached near a football pitch in the village, a heavy weapon shell fired by a combined group of KNU and so-called PDF terrorists exploded nearby, resulting in her injuries, it is reported.

     According to the above-mentioned case, local residents are condemning and protesting against the indiscriminate firing of heavy weapons, small arms, improvised rockets and drone attacks by dropping bombs on wards and villages. In response, security personnnel, in collaboration with local residents, are intensifying security measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the incident, it is reported.
