Innocent Civilians Injured in Heavy Weapon Attacks by Armed Terrorists in Myitkyina and Myaung Townships

     Terrorists are ruthlessly carrying out abductions, killings and armed attacks, using both heavy and small weapons, improvised rocket attacks on wards and villages, as well as conducting drone strikes, all with the intent to harm civilians and instill fear among the public.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 21 February 2026 at 9:00 AM, a report stated that a man, a woman and a child with shrapnel injuries were admitted to Myitkyina Township Public Hospital in Kachin State. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victims were identified as Daw Roi Jar (40 years old), Ma Dwe Jar Pan (12 years old) and U La Jar (35 years old), all residents of Si Tar Pu Ward in Myitkyina Township. According to the investigation, heavy weapon shells fired by a combined group of KIA insurgents and the so-called PDF terrorists exploded within the ward, resulting in their injuries, it is reported.

     Similarly, at 1:10 PM, on the same day, a report stated that a woman with shrapnel injuries was admitted to Mandalay Public Hospital in Chanayetharzan Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victim was identified as Daw Win Mar Yi (58 years old), a resident of Na Bat Village in Myaung Township of Sagaing Region. According to the investigation, while the victim was at her house, a heavy weapon shell fired by the so-called PDF terrorists exploded nearby, resulting in her injuries, it is reported.

     According to the above-mentioned cases, local residents are condemning and protesting against the indiscriminate firing of heavy weapons, small arms, improvised rockets and drone attacks by dropping bombs on wards and villages. In response, security personnel, in collaboration with local residents, are intensifying security measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the incidents, it is reported.
