A Monk Along with Vehicle Abducted by So-Called PDF Terrorist Group in Palaw Township of Tanintharyi Region

     Terrorist groups have been engaging in battles, carrying out attacks using heavy weapons, drones to drop bombs, and improvised explosive devices across towns and villages in various states and regions. Moreover, they are committing inhumane acts of terror and criminal activities-including abducting and extorting money from local civilians, as well as killings.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 16 October 2025, Bhente KhanDi Sar Ya (52 years old), who has served 23 years in monkhood and is the abbot of a monastery in Auk Paung Village, Palaw Township of Tanintharyi Region, was travelling in a TOYOTA WISH vehicle driven by Ko Aung Pyae Sone (23 years old), a resident of No. 4 Ward in Palaw town, from Yae Cho Village to Palaw Town. Around 12:00 PM, when the vehicle reached a football pitch in the Yae Cho Village, five so-called PDF terrorists forced it to stop and abducted the abbot along with the vehicle, accusing him of being a “informant”. The driver was later released, it is reported.

     Regarding the above incident, security Personnel are continuing necessary operations in accordance with standard procedures to identify, apprehend, and take action against the terrorists involved, it is reported.
