Government Servant Injured in Drone Bomb Attack by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Mahlaing Township of Mandalay Region

     Terrorists are ruthlessly carrying out abductions, killings and armed attacks, using both heavy and small weapons, improvised rocket attacks on wards and villages, as well as conducting drone strikes, all with the intent to harm civilians and instill fear among the public.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 25 January 2026 at 1:20 PM, so-called PDF terrorists conducted a drone attack by dropping bombs on Htan Taw Village in Mahlaing Township of Mandalay Region. One of the bombs exploded in an open ground near a polling station within the compound of the Basic Education High School in the village. As a result of the blast, U Kyaw Thu Aung (33 years old), Junior Clerk from the Mahlaing Township Court who was on duty at the polling station, sustained shrapnel injuries. He was transported to Mahlaing Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.

     According to the above-mentioned case, local residents are condemning and protesting against the indiscriminate firing of heavy weapons, small arms, improvised rockets and drone attacks by dropping bombs on wards and villages. In response, security personnel, in collaboration with local residents, are intensifying security measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the incident, it is reported.
