Innocent Civilian Injured in Heavy Weapon Attack by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Thayetchaung Township of Tanintharyi Region

     Terrorists are ruthlessly carrying out abductions, killings and armed attacks, using both heavy and small weapons, improvised rocket attacks on wards and villages, as well as conducting drone strikes, all with the intent to harm civilians and instill fear among the public.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 18 March 2026 at 6:40 PM, a report stated that a man with shrapnel injuries was admitted to Dawei Township Public Hospital in Dawei Township of Tanintharyi Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victim was identified as U Hla Swe (60 years old), a resident of Sone Sin Village in Thayetchaung Township. According to the investigation, on 17 March 2026 at 4:00 PM, while the victim was at his house, a heavy weapon shell fired by so-called PDF terrorists exploded nearby, resulting in his injuries, it is reported.

     According to the above-mentioned case, local residents are condemning and protesting against the indiscriminate firing of heavy weapons, small arms, improvised rockets and drone attacks by dropping bombs on wards and villages. In response, security personnel, in collaboration with local residents, are intensifying security measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the incident, it is reported.
