Innocent Civilians Injured in Drone Bomb and Improvised Mortar Attacks by Terrorists on Villages

     Insurgents who support terrorism along with so-called PDF terrorists have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets and dropping bombs using drones into the public towns, wards and villages.

     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 5 September, 2024 at 11:55 AM, a report stated that a man with shrapnel injuries had arrived at Thanphyuzayat Township Public Hospital in Mon State. When security personnel promptly arrived at the Hospital for further investigation, they discovered that the victim was U Myint Naing (53 years old), a resident of Bay La Mine Village in Ye Township. The incident was occurred when KNU members, who support terrorism, along with so-called PDF terrorists, conducted a drone attack dropping bombs on the victim’s village. One of the bombs exploded near the “Lwe Yar Ma” petrol station in the village, resulting in his injuries, it is reported.

     Similarly, at 6:00 PM, a report stated that three men and a woman with shrapnel injuries had arrived at No. 12 Military Hospital (100 bedded) in Dawei Township of Tanintharyi Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the Hospital for further investigation, they discovered that the victims were Ko Aung Ko Phyo (23 years old), U Kyaw Lwin (66 years old), U Nyan Soe (45 years old) and Daw Khin Thandar Aung (30 years old), all residents of Pa Kar Yi Village in Dawei Township. The incident was occurred when the so-called PDF terrorists fired improvised mortars at the victims’ village. The improvised mortar shells exploded within the village, resulting in their injuries, it is reported.

     Due to the heinous acts of armed insurgents and terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent civilians are injured. Consequently, Local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the Local residents, it is reported.
