Innocent Civilians Injured in Improvised Mortar and Drone Bomb Attacks by terrorists

     Insurgents committing terrorist activities have been engaging in battles, firing heavy weapons and improvised rockets, and dropping bombs using drones into the public towns, wards and villages.

     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 15 September, 2024 at 9:00 AM, a report stated that a woman with shrapnel injuries had arrived at the Thaton District Public Hospital in Mon State. When security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital for further investigation, it was discovered that the victim was Ma Ya Min Shwe Yi (17 years old), a resident of Phoe Wah Thein Village in Bilin Township. The incident occurred when a heavy weapon shell fired by a terrorist group, exploded in front of the victim’s house, resulting in her injuries, it is reported.

     Similarly, at 4:45 PM, a report stated that a man and a woman with shrapnel injuries had arrived at the Thanphuyzayat Township Public Hospital in Mon State. When security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital for further investigation, it was discovered that the victims were Mg Naing Nge Htoo Htoo Lin (19 years old) and Ma Zin Mar Htway (19 years old), both residents of Wal Kha Mi Village in Thanphyuzayat Township. The incident occurred while the victims were returning from Kyaung Ywar Village to their village on a motorcycle along the Kyaung Ywar-Lin Ma Thar-Wal Kha Mi Village Commutable Road. A bomb dropped by a group of KNU members who support terrorism, along with so-called PDF terrorists, exploded near Lin Ma Thar Village, resulting in both of their injuries, it is reported.  

     Due to the heinous acts of armed insurgents and terrorists such as engaging in battles and firing of heavy weapons and improvised rockets within towns, wards and villages where innocent civilians peacefully reside, innocent civilians are injured. Consequently, local residents are protesting vehemently against these acts of terrorism, completely refusing to accept them. Security personnel are intensifying necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents, it is reported.
