Innocent Civilians Killed and Injured After Stepping on Improvised Explosive Devices Planted by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Loikaw and Chauk Townships

     In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 24 February 2026 at 10:30 AM, Daw Ka Yar Rar (aka) Daw Aung Nge (52 years old), U Hla Khay (56 years old), Daw Dal Myar (54 years old) and Ma May Myat Mon (28 years old), all residents of Htay Ngar Lyar Ward in Loikaw Township of Kayah State, were cleaning in the yard of Daw Ka Yar Rar (aka) Daw Aung Nge, she triggered a tripwire mine planted by so-called PDF terrorists. As a result, Daw Ka Yar Rar (aka) Daw Aung Nge died on the spot, while the rest individuals sustained shrapnel injuries. The deceased and injured individuals were transported to Loikaw District Public Hospital for examination and medical treatment, it is reported.

     Similarly, at 6:15 PM, on the same day, Mg Shine Htet Aung (13 years old), a resident of Chaung Pike Village in Chauk Township of Magway Region, was herding cows in a palm plantation about one mile northeast of the village, he stepped on an improvised explosive device planted by so-called PDF terrorists. As a result, Mg Shine Htet Aung died on the spot, it is reported.

     It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incidents to take effective action in accordance with the law.
