Innocent Civilians Recklessly Assassinated by So-called PDF Terrorists

     In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.

     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 8 January 2025 at 2:20 PM, a report stated that a man with gunshot injuries had been admitted to Sin Ku Station Hospital, Nyaung-U Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel promptly arrived at the hospital for further investigation, it was discovered that U Win Thint (82 years old) and his son, Mg Myo Zaw Hein, both residents of Khya-O Kyun Village in Nyaung-U Township, was travelling in an ALPHARD vehicle (License Plate No. MDY 1F/XXXX) driven by Ko Aung Lwin, also a resident of the same village. They were travelling from Khya-O Kyun Village to Sin Ku Village. When they arrived near U-yin Village, 10 so-called PDF terrorists opened fire on the vehicle and then fled. As a result, U Win Thint sustained gunshot injuries, while Mg Myo Zaw Hein and Ko Aung Lwin were unharmed, it is reported.

     Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the killing and assassination of innocent civilians in the aforementioned case, it is reported.
