Two Innocent Civilians Injured in Attack by So-Called PDF Terrorist Group in Shwebo Township of Sagaing Region

     In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.

     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 9 August 2025 at 10:45 PM, a report stated that two men with gunshot wounds were admitted to Shwebo Township Public Hospital of Sagaing Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victims were identified as U Thet Khine (52 years old) and his son, Ko Hein Htet Aung (24 years old) who were renting a room in a seven-unit row of rental houses. While the victims were at the house, a so-called PDF terrorist group arrived, opened fire on them and then fled, resulting in their injuries, it is reported.

     Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
