Three Innocent Civilians Injured in Improvised Mortar Attack by So-Called PDF Terrorist Group in Mawlaik Township of Sagaing Region

Terrorists are ruthlessly carrying out abductions, killings and armed attacks, using both heavy and small weapons, on wards and villages, as well as conducting drone strikes, all with the intent to harm civilians and spread fear. They are also indiscriminately planting landmines on public roads, targeting government offices with explosives and engaging in destructive acts without regard for reason or morality.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 29 August 2025 at 10:00 AM, a so-called PDF terrorist group fired improvised mortars into Mawlaik Town in Sagaing Region. One of the mortar shells exploded inside the Mawlaik Myoma market. As a result, U Win Zaw (56 years old), Daw Aye Mon (43 years old), both residents of Aungmingalar Ward, along with Daw Khan Wah Moe (35 years old), a resident of Kyauk Taung Ward, who were shopping in the market at the time, sustained shrapnel injuries. All injured individuals were transported to Mawlaik Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.
