10-Household Elder Shot Dead by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Thayet Township of Magway Region

    In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are administrative officials who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
    Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 19 July 2025 at 7:30 AM, a report stated that a man was shot dead in Phaung Ka Taw Village, Thayet Township of Magway Region. When security personnel conducted further investigation, the victim was identified as U Aye Min (45 years old), a 10-household elder and a resident of the village. When the victim was at his house, approximately 10 so-called PDF terrorists arriving by five motorcycles and abducted him, accusing him of being a “decoy”. The terrorists took him to the village cemetery, located two furlongs west of the village, and gunned him down. As a result, U Aye Min died on the spot, it is reported.
    Security peosonnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
