Village Administrator Shot Dead by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Taungtha Township of Mandalay Region

    In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are administrative officials who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
    Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 21 July 2025 at 8:15 AM, a report stated that a village administrator was abducted and shot dead by a so-called PDF terrorist group in Taungtha Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel arrived at the scene for further investigation, the victim was identified as Village Administrator U Ye Myint Aung (aka) U Bo Ye (57 years old), a resident of Ta Mike Thar Village in Taungtha Township. While the victim was at his house, approximately 25 so-called PDF terrorists arrived and abducted him, accusing him of being a “decoy”. The terrorists took him to the edge of a forest west of the village and shot him. As a result, U Ye Myint Aung (aka) U Bo Ye died on the spot, it is reported.
    Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
