Primary Assistant Teacher Injured in Attack by So-Called PDF Terrorist Group in Mahlaing Township of Mandalay Region

    In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are civil servants who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
    Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 26 July 2025 at 3:30 PM, a report stated that a woman with gunshot wounds was admitted to Meiktila District Public Hospital in Meiktila Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital for further investigation, the victim was identified as Daw Lae Lae Mon (32 years old), a primary assistant teacher from No.3 Basic Education High School (Kyat Phyu) and a resident of Kyat Phyu Village in Mahlaing Township. The incident occurred while the victim was travelling by motorcycle from No.1 Basic Education High School in Mahlaing Town to her village. When she reached an area near Ma Gyi Kone Village in Mahlaing Township, a so-called PDF terrorist group opened fire on her and then fled. As a result, Daw Lae Lae Mon sustained gunshot wounds, it is reported.
    Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
