In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are innocent civilians who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 22 August 2025, at 3:45 PM, a report stated that the body of a man with knife injuries was found at the cemetery in Pae Pin Shae Village, Pyawbwe Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel arrived at the scene for further investigation, the victim was identified as U Thant Zin (62 years old) a resident of Ywar Thit Village. The incident occurred around 11:00 AM on the same day, while the victim was heading to “Myauk Kyaung” Monastery in Pae Pin Shae Village. When he reached near the monastery, five so-called PDF terrorists arriving by three motorcycles, accusing him of being a “decoy or informant” and abducted him. Then they took him to the cemetery, where they killed him, it is reported.
Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
