KNLA Armed Insurgents Blow Up Pyin Thar Bridge on Bilin-Nat Gyi-Pharpon Road, Bilin Township of Mon State

     Terrorists are employing various methods to carry out acts of violence, such as laying mines and detonating explosives on public roads and bridges, setting fire to and destroying office buildings, schools and public residences, and entering villages to commit destructive acts. Their objectives include disrupting the national stability, peace and the rule of law, halting regional trade flows and obstructing socio-economic development.

     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 2 December 2025 at 8:00 AM, KNLA armed insurgents detonated explosives and destroyed Bridge No (6/18) (Pyin Thar Bridge), located between mileposts 17/7 and 18 on the Bilin-NatGyi-Pharpon road near Pyin Thar Village in Bilin Township of Mon State. The bridge is a reinforced concrete structure measuring 120 feet in length, 24 feet in width, with a load capacity of about 45 tons. As a result of the explosion, the bridge sustained significant damage.

     On 6 March 2024, the bridge had also been damaged, about 30 in length, by terrorists, causing difficulties for public transportation. It was later repaired and restored to facilitate smooth and easy travel for the public, but it has now been targeted and destroyed by explosives again.

     As a result, vehicles and travelers are no longer able to cross the bridge, bringing trade and transport activities to a complete halt. Responsible officials are carrying out repair and restoration work on the bridge as quickly as possible. Security forces are also intensifying necessary operations to take action against the terrorists and respond to their activities.
